Nonverbal (Figure) Reasoning

Nonverbal (figure) reasoning refers to a student's ability in spatial and abstract thinking. This reasoning also refers to how well students solve problems using shapes and figures.

    This section is composed of:
  • Figure classification: Similar to verbal classification but instead of words, there are figures. Students are asked to select a figure in the five choices that goes with the three figures given.
  • Figure analogies: Similar to the verbal analogies with the replacement of words by figures. Students are asked to select a figure goes with the third figure that will have the same relationship with the first two figures given.
  • Figure analysis: A folding series of figures are given with punched holes in the final folded figure. Students are asked to select what the figure would look like when the folded figure is unfolded.
